May 2018

We registered a non-profit association in Denmark with the official name: Designing for Children’s Rights Association. Later we started to use the acronym D4CR. The purpose of the association is to support and nurture the D4CR Guide and the active and growing D4CR community to set new standards when designing for children and youth, as well as raising awareness on ethics and U.N. declaration of child rights in the business, service and product design processes.

January 2018

In collaboration with UNICEF, we hosted our first global 48-hour event – Talkoot 2018 – that gathered over 70 heroes with different disciplines – designers, psychologists, neuroscientists, health care specialists, educators, engineers, researchers, business owners and child rights experts.

During this event, the first version of the Designing for Children’s Rights Guide was co-created and published. From here on our international community expanded with many amazing people. The Design Guide was highlighted in press in Finland and internationally, and it was shared within multiple companies, educational institutions, conference audiences all around the world.
